I see myself first and foremost as an Artist—not just by profession, but by identity. It’s how I make sense of the world and discover who I truly am.

Music has been with me from the start. Growing up in a home where Indian classical music was an integral part of life, I was immersed in it before I could even speak properly. My father, Pandit Milind Raikar, has not only been my Guru but also my greatest inspiration. Under his guidance, I started learning tabla as a toddler, and soon after, found a deep connection with the violin.

By the age of four, I was already performing—but what began as instinct slowly turned into interest. Over the years, music has become more than a craft; it’s been a journey of constant evolution. Being recognised early on was both humbling and demanding—it pushed me to keep learning, keep growing, and above all, stay grounded.

While my foundation is firmly rooted in the classical tradition, I’ve always been drawn to exploring beyond it. Thanks to my father and mentors like Pandit Arun Kashalkar, Kishori Tai Amonkar, and Dr. L. Subramaniam, I’ve learned that innovation and tradition don’t need to be at odds. They can coexist beautifully. I enjoy blending ragas with contemporary elements, inviting new audiences in, and creating experiences that feel both timeless and fresh.

To me, being an Artist First means staying open. It means learning from every collaboration, every concert, every moment of silence between the notes. It means letting music shape you as much as you shape the music.

And that’s why I believe in platforms like the A3 Foundation. They remind us that artists need more than just stages—we need spaces to reflect, grow, and connect. A3 champions the idea that when artists are supported as people, not just performers, the entire cultural landscape benefits.

It’s exciting to be part of a community that sees the artist—not just the art. And I hope more creators find their way here, where growth feels collaborative, and artistry feels seen 🙂
